Fit For Future – Kömmerling presents system solutions for more efficient window construction
One of the key focuses of Kömmerling’s presence at Fensterbau Frontale 2026 was the Fit For Future programme. With this initiative, the system provider supports its partners with concrete product solutions that combine efficiency, sustainability and economic benefits.
The programme brings together practical system developments that simplify fabrication, reduce material use and system complexity, and thus provide tangible competitive advantages for window manufacturers – ranging from intelligent accessories to new window and door systems.
Among the current Fit For Future products presented at Fensterbau Frontale were:
• the Kömmerling PremiStep 20 threshold system
• the optimised AddOn aluminium compound sash
• the PremiSlide 76 Beyond sliding system
• a semi-flush sash in the 76 centre seal system
• the new PremiConnect coupling technology
• AluClip Plus – an enhanced aluminium cladding system
The Smart Home solutions from Kömmerling developed in cooperation with Delta Dore, which are already successfully established in the market, were also part of the Fit For Future exhibition programme.
Kömmerling PremiStep 20 threshold system
The new Kömmerling PremiStep 20 insert threshold, currently being introduced to the market, attracted considerable interest from trade visitors. The threshold is particularly suitable for door and window elements where a low installation height and a barrier-reduced transition are required.
It has been designed to integrate easily into fabrication processes and requires no additional installation steps on site – making it both flexible and efficient. Compared with conventional threshold solutions, the greatest advantages become apparent in door constructions with fixed side elements.
The surrounding outer frame supports a stable construction and contributes to improved sealing performance. The connection to the building structure has also been designed for practical implementation – for example when connecting to terrace coverings or in combination with façade drainage channels.
The Kömmerling PremiStep 20 threshold is independent of hardware systems and is designed for various system platforms – System 76 with double seal and centre seal as well as System 88 centre seal. Kömmerling base profiles and extension profiles can also be integrated and sealed without difficulty. This results in a low threshold area that fits very well into the overall concept of many building projects.
A practice-oriented programme
Several solutions from the Fit For Future programme are already available on the market – including the semi-flush sash in the 76 centre seal system and the optimised aluminium cladding system AluClip Plus.
Further developments will follow during the course of 2026, including the further developed AddOn aluminium compound sash and the new PremiConnect coupling technology.
