Kömmerling WarmCore: Versatile Hybrid System Combining PVC-U and Aluminium
With the further developed Kömmerling WarmCore 76 system, the systems supplier presented a solution at Fensterbau Frontale 2026 that combines the advantages of PVC-U and aluminium in an intelligent hybrid construction.
Kömmerling WarmCore is available in installation depths of 70 and 76 millimetres and covers a wide range of applications – from windows and doors to sliding and folding/sliding elements.
The system leverages the strengths of both materials in a hybrid design: Inside, a thermally optimized PVC-U core ensures very good thermal insulation. On the outside, a continuous aluminium cladding protects against weathering, UV radiation and mechanical stress, while giving Kömmerling WarmCore a modern, precise appearance and high dimensional stability.
Convincing Structural Performance
The interlocking connection of both materials eliminates the need for additional steel reinforcement, even with floor-to-ceiling sash sizes. This reduces weight, simplifies and speeds up fabrication, and creates space for additional insulation cores.
With the standard version, windows and window doors can be made in both flush and offset designs. Glazing thicknesses from 24 to 50 millimetres are possible, and the centre seal system achieves a Uf value of up to 1.0 W/(m²K).
A complementary residential door system offers versatile design options: inward or outward opening, with sidelights and fanlights, and compatible with functional glazing and door panels. Resistance class RC2 ensures a high level of security.
A further new feature is a “hidden” full-glass sash, enabling a flush exterior appearance without visible sash profiles and supporting the design requirements of modern architecture.
Various System Versions
Kömmerling WarmCore 70 also remains part of the portfolio. It was primarily developed for the UK market and selected international markets. The system includes numerous variants, such as two- to seven-part folding/sliding doors, fixed elements in casement versions, tilt-and-turn and mullion windows, as well as low-threshold sliding doors in two-, three- or four-leaf configurations.
Across all Kömmerling WarmCore variants, design flexibility is extensive: numerous RAL colours, textured finishes in single- or dual-colour options, and wood decors can be realised.
Trade Fair Highlight 2026
The newly developed WarmCore 76 sliding door with a slim central section attracted strong interest from trade visitors at Fensterbau Frontale 2026. A lift-and-slide solution is currently under development and is expected to be available by the end of the year.
