Setting a benchmark for sustainability: First “Kömmerling Tomorrow Award” launched for window manufacturers
With the Kömmerling Tomorrow Award 2026, profine GmbH is launching an international industry award for the first time, recognising window manufacturers for their commitment to sustainability and innovative solutions.
The award is aimed at customers of the Kömmerling brand worldwide and honours projects that make a measurable contribution to greater sustainability – whether through product or process innovations or through social commitment.
Applications can be submitted in two categories: Category A covers sustainable products and processes, including approaches that improve material efficiency, energy performance, manufacturing methods or the supply chain; Category B focuses on social commitment, such as environmental and social projects, regional initiatives or employee programmes. Eligible submissions include completed projects from the past two years as well as ongoing or long-term initiatives.
After the application deadline, an independent jury will select a total of six finalists – three in each category. These finalists will present their projects live at the Fensterbau Frontale 2026 in Nuremberg in front of the jury and trade fair audience. The winners will then be announced.
The prize money is earmarked for specific purposes: the two winning projects will each receive EUR 10,000, to be donated in the name of the respective window manufacturing company to a sustainable initiative or institution. In addition, four recognition awards of EUR 1,000 each will support further sustainability-related commitments.
“With the Kömmerling Tomorrow Award 2026, we aim to increase the visibility and recognition of sustainability in practice within the window industry, create a shared communication platform and provide impulses for responsible entrepreneurial action,” explains Dr. Peter Mrosik, owner and CEO of profine Group.
The award ceremony at the leading international trade fair underlines the importance of sustainability for both the company and the industry, while offering participants an international stage for their achievements.
