The material makes the difference

Ethylene is required to manufacture PVC, which is usually obtained from the fossil raw material petroleum. In bio-attributed PVC, however, this ethylene comes from tall oil – a by-product of paper production.

Tall oil is obtained from pine oil, which comes from wood sourced from sustainable Finnish forestry. This raw material does not compete with food production and uses existing resources particularly efficiently.

Same quality – significantly more sustainable

The result: a material that is chemically identical to conventional PVC. This means that all the proven properties are retained in full:

  • Durable and robust
  • Easy to maintain
  • Very good thermal insulation
  • Economical
  • Fully recyclable

Bio-attributed PVC meets exactly the same technical and quality requirements that make PVC the preferred frame material for modern windows.

How sustainable is bio-attributed PVC?

The difference lies in the carbon footprint:

  • The manufacturing process reduces CO₂ emissions by over 90% compared to PVC made from fossil raw materials by the same manufacturer.
  • By using bio-attributed PVC, we save around 1.5 kg of CO₂ per kilogram of material in our production.

Certified sustainability – transparent and verifiable

The entire supply chain – from the extraction of tall oil to the finished PVC profile – is certified according to the strict standards of RSB certification (Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials) and is inspected annually.

A decisive advantage:

The bio-attributed PVC is processed physically separately from conventional PVC – from the delivery of the raw material to the delivery of the profiles. There is no mixing as part of a mass balance process.

You receive exactly the product you order – including a certificate.

Windows made from bio-attributed PVC are the right choice if ...

  • non-fossil raw materials are required
  • DGNB certification, e.g. quality level 4, must be met
  • the CO₂ footprint of the entire building is to be reduced
  • sustainability is a conscious focus

For profiles with a recycled core, bio-attributed PVC can be used as fresh material for the outer shell – for even greater sustainability without compromising on quality and design.
