With demand notably up on pre-COVID-19 levels, having an integrated on-site foiling operation has been a necessity, which is being fully utilised to cope with the significant increase in demand. From an extrusion perspective, profine UK will be looking to bring the KÖMMERLING 70 tools over from the Pirmasens and Berlin facilities in Germany in the next couple of months, with 32 tools in total transferred by the end of 2020
Robert Long, production director of profine UK commented: ‘We’ve had to respond quickly to the foil lamination requirements of the Legend and Evolve systems and more recently the KÖMMERLING 70 platform. With an extrusion facility that includes a mixing plant and the post-extrusion process of foil lamination, we’re looking to respond to immediate demand and also to reduce the lead-times on special orders in the coming months.
He continued: ‘In time we will also look to introduce new colours and woodgrains as market demand dictates and with the considerable resources of the profine Group behind us, we can also look forward to a new investment programme for the facility. But in the short-term, the requirement is to satisfy immediate orders and to build a strong pipeline of stock.’
