BAU 2015: profine presented proCoverTec surface finishing

At the BAU 2015 exhibition, profine had a focus on the presentation of its innovative “proCoverTec” surface finishing, a liquid synthetic material that refines the profile surfaces of conventional windows for a considerable boost to value.

“proCoverTec” is a coloured, yet functional premium surface that was developed specifically for PVC-U window profiles. A liquid synthetic material, “proCoverTec” is combined with ultra modern application technology to lend the window a satin and robust look and feel that is in perfect keeping with the material.

This finish can be applied to either one side or as a full cover, on the inside, outside, and visible rebate surfaces. Patent pending, the “pro- CoverTec” synthetic has been designed exclusively for the profine brands KBE, Kömmerling, and Trocal.

“proCoverTec” offers more than just an extended range of colour schemes. Unlike other colour systems, this finish protects the window from mechanical stresses and strains, at the same time fulfilling in equal measure all requirements affecting dimensional stability, colour fastness, and heat reflection.

This protection safeguards the permanent function of the window, sustainable energy savings, and lasting comfort for the user. Its outstanding dirt repellent properties make the surface easy to clean.

This new technology comes with a total of 22 colours to choose from, providing a great many design possibilities for every building type.

profine is currently marketing profiles with the “proCoverTec” finish in test markets such as the Netherlands and Switzerland. This new technology will first become available to German profine manufacturers from the end of January 2015, when it will be offered in “System 76”.

At the 2015 pro-K award competition hosted by pro-K Industrieverband Halbzeuge und Konsumprodukte aus Kunststoff e.V., the industrial association for PVC-U semifinished and consumer products, “pro- CoverTec” was the clear winner in the surface systems category, greatly impressing the expert jury with its “flexible colour designs and innovative surface finishing”.

Dr Peter Mrosik, owner and CEO of profine: “proCoverTec is more than just colour. This surface finishing greatly boosts the value of windows, offering our partners new opportunities to rise above their competitors.”
